SIPit-FR

Launch of the SIPit-FR

At SIP IT (scotland) ltd we are very excited to be officially launching the SIPit-FR panel.

After rigorous testing in line with class 3.1 BS EN 1365-1: 2012, the SIPit-FR panel easily achieved 60 min fire resistance with a REI of 60/60/60

Combined Strength, insulation and fire

Like no other SIP panel on the market the SIPit-FR not only provides Structural integrity, superior insulation, and fire resistance all in one simple system, but it is also extremely robust, water and mould resistant, and absorbs carbon during manufacture and after installation.

Strength

The SIPit-FR is a direct replacement for a concrete block, but has all the benefits of a SIP panel and blockwork wall combined. The outer layers are an A1 non-combustible CMC (Cellulose Magnesia Cement) board, and the insulating core is injected Polyurethane. This means 1 hour fire rating for boundary walls, warehouses, factories, offices, apartments, schools, stairwells, shopping centres and hotels.

Speed

With a faster build time, ease of installation, reduced reliance on skilled labour, instant fire integrity on construction sites, and protection against bad weather during construction, the SIPit-FR system reduces time and cost onsite for contractors and clients.

" A report from New Civil Engineer indicates that over 70% of UK construction managers have faced weather-related delays this year, which can be directly linked to rain damage."

On a large commercial construction site water protection and a fire proof boundary are a major outlay at the start of a project. If the building itself is instantly fire resistant, insulated and water resistant the speed of build and project costs are significantly reduced.

Fire resistance

The SIPit-FR is a 1 hour fire rated panel ideal for boundary and party walls. With a lack of A1 non-combustible claddings currently available on the market the SIPit-FR lets you finish your boundary wall with a lesser classed product (refer to building standards technical handbook for further information). The external and internal face of the SIPit-FR is an A1 rated non-combustible CMC board.

Sustainability

There is a unpresented rise in quantity of timber used in the UK construction market at the moment with over 70% of timber required being imported, mainly from Europe.

"one football field of forest lost every single second around the clock"

SIPit-FR hugely reduces the reliance on timber, and subsequently reduces the need to cut down trees.

The process of making the CMC boards actively absorbs carbon during manufacture and continues to absorb carbon after installation. This gives the SIPit-FR panel the properties to achieve a Net Zero building.

The SIPit-FR's simple combined system reduces transportation, unlike a multi-layered element that requires a more complex build up from several sources.

U-values

SIPit-FR out performs any prefabricated panel currently on the market. With a thinner wall make up and lower-u-values the stand alone 195 panel achieves 0.11 W/m2k with the 245 achieving 0.09 W/m2K. This means a finished 245 wall would likely achieve 0.08 W/m2K.

This superior energy performance again leads the way with passiv haus standard and lays a solid foundation for achieving net zero goals.

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing more valuable information about the SIPit-FR panel, and how it addresses so many of the issues present in the construction industry today, but if you need any more specific information in the interim please get intouch.
